My Poetry: Not Good Enough – by Nwadiogo

It must be tiring thinking you’re not good enough.

Tell me what you’ve been thinking of
what those demons have been whispering of…

Maybe you’ve not been praying enough.
What was God even thinking of
when he formed you and released you ’cause
this world keeps on fighting you off,
telling you you’re not needed but
it will make a space for you here.
In the darkness of this basement seat here,
swimming in all of your debt,
things you’ve not given the world yet.
God placed it in you
to see what you could do,
to save those who are going through,
what you’re struggling through.
But now all is paused
to work through what the devil caused.
You allowed him two steps in,
now he’s moving in.
So call upon God’s grace,
go seek him face-to-face,
He’ll set you a new pace,
you’ll definitely win this race.
Because it must be tiring thinking you’re not good enough.
